Field Trip and Lecture
Hoquiam Grays Harbor area and Ocean Shores, WA / May 2 and 3, 2015
Seven people joined Dan on a field trip during the Grays Harbor Shorebird and Nature Festival.
At Ocean Shores, we saw a pair of Bald Eagles.
In addition to raptors, we identified as many other species of birds as we could, including this easy to ID Canada Goose at the Humptulips River delta along Burrows Road.
Greater Yellowlegs, Humptulips River delta.
Great Blue Heron, Humptulips River delta.
In the water at the south end of the Ocean Shores peninsula, we spotted a Common Loon.
The day after the field trip, May 3, Dan gave a lecture on raptor identification at Hoquiam High School.
