Notes from the Field (Winter 2007):

Comments: We were unable to cover the full length of the beach due to a high tide at the start of the survey. Never-the-less, during this Casual Survey we saw eleven bald eagles, two northern harriers and two peregrine falcons.

Comments: We did both Comprehensive and Casual Surveys today (for the difference between these, see the website's Survey Types tab). On the Comprehensive Survey, we saw ten bald eagles and two northern harriers. The bald eagle count ties a survey on June 19, 2004 as third highest for bald eagles during a Comprehensive Survey at Long Beach.

The Casual Survey followed the Comprehensive Survey. During this second survey we captured and banded a peregrine, U/2.
